Part Number:Celebrating America
The Celebrating America book honors the love and devotion we have for our country. The familiar American songs and images of American landmarks and events, tap into memories and stimulate conversation and song. Book includes a CD of piano accompaniment for each song. Therapeutic music has been found to connect with people with Alzheimer's or other dementia, even into the later stages, through the familiar melodies and singing. The 10 songs include:

  • Yankee Doodle
  • You're a Grand Old Flag
  • Star Spangled Banner
  • My Country Tis of Thee
  • Pledge of Allegiance

The 10 images include: Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore, Lincoln Memorial, and July 4th celebrations. Use this book and CD to tap into music memories and to celebrate the spirit of America!

Book is spiral bound to lay flat and includes 20 thick-stock pages to hold up to repeated use. CD offers piano accompaniment for each song, to further stimulate memory and to enhance the activity. Appropriate for all activity levels.

"Recalls memories and patriotic feelings for those with dementia, through familiar songs of America"

Therapist Tip: The Celebrating America book is especially useful for patients at all stages of memory loss due to Alzheimer's or other dementia and is very appropriate for those who served in the military. The book/CD can provide cognitive stimulation, be used in music therapy, and can make lively connections when used individually; during visits with family and friends; with caregivers; and in small groups. This book/CD is also helpful for elderly with vision loss, as the text is in large, bold print.

Love the bright pictures and large print words. My dementia clients enjoy this, it helps to trigger memories and recognition of songs. Book is well made. Will purchase others as they come available.
