Thursday Three Alzheimer Activities

Posted by Administrator on 11/29/2012 to Dementia Activities
  1. Clip coupons together. For the higher level person, have them categorize if the item is in a box, in a can, or other (with these 3 labels written each on a separate slip of paper). For the lower level person, highlight the box around the coupon, where they should cut.
  2. Have old puzzles the person can no longer use? Paint the backs of the puzzle pieces in various colors - the person can help to do this! After dry, you can set the pieces out painted side up and have the person sort them by color. Also, consider large piece puzzles that the person might do the standard way.
  3. Make a simple snack.  Butter a tortilla, sprinkle on sugar and cinammon, roll up and enjoy!  The higher level person can read directions to make these. The lower level person will need step by step verbal/visual cues.

Happy day!
